NoizCast Software

The NoizCast Streaming Server is an MP3 audio streaming server for Novell's NetWare operating system. It is a SHOUTcast and WinAMP compatible streaming server that has been optimized for the NetWare platform. It provides all of the same functionality ... and more!

RadioActive Monitor! is our new Windows application for remotely monitoring a SHOUTcast or NoizCast MP3 server. The Beta version is now available on our downloads page!

Future Enhancements!
We are currently working on several new enhancements for our NoizCast server ... stream from your home directory ... and Novell Directory Services integration. Stay tuned! Join the mail list!

We are also adding features to RadioActive Monitor! ... saving the graphs as JPEGs ... listener reports ...etc.

NoizCast v2.00 is now available!
I have now rewritten major portions of the code, doing more optimizations for NetWare. It's not completely where I want it to be, but it's getting close. I've also rewritten all of the thread code to safely handle multiple "channels" (or virtual NoizCast servers) on the same server. I hope to have this out pretty soon in the next release. Go grab a copy and start testing! Some of the fixes/enhancements are:

Full rewrite of the directory "check-in" code - this stuff was a mess, fixed the AES stuff and also a number of socket problems
Major rewrite of the main server thread - all of the code has been isolated from dependencies ... we're close to channels!

NoizCast v1.04 is now available!
We're making progress with updates and bug fixes. I number of things had been reported since the last version so we have gone through a couple of different internal releases ... we think this one is ready to go! Go grab a copy and start testing! Some of the fixes/enhancements are:

Fixed the Source Reconnect bug - the connection would sometimes hang on a source failure
Altered the LOG command implementation - some users were having problems with this
Now support multiple directory servers - this implementation now has the ability to support numerous directory servers so that your NoizCast server can be listed in numerous directories. The default is to check in with yp.noizcast.com and yp.shoutcast.com automatically. You can now add directories by placing one or more "-d" command line options. We're going to be enhancing this further in the next revision.
Enhanced the TAILLOG command - for those of you using RadioActive Monitor, you'll like this! We now automatically send the Source information strings, and the current listeners string, when the TAILLOG command is issued. So now when RadioActive connects the display is up-to-date!

Novell's BrainShare Developer's Conference!

We had our first get together with a number of the people who have been providing the final Alpha Testing of our NoizCast server ... we promised that it would be out in a week ... so here we are plugging away to make sure that it happens!
